Travelling 4,000 km across some of Australia’s most pristine wilderness, your expert guide will take you off the beaten track and introduce you to some of the best makers, growers and passionate locals throughout Western Australia and South Australia.
Experience the extreme diversity and natural wonders of the south-west corner of Western Australia. Swim off white sandy beaches in turquoise waters and walk among ancient forests. Engage with Indigenous culture and taste your way around Margaret River. Meet the friendly kangaroos of Esperance and embark on one of the world’s most iconic road journeys, crossing the mighty Nullarbor Plain. On South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula stand on the ‘Edge of Australia’ at the Head of Bight, swim with wild sea lions and dolphins, and harvest your own Coffin Bay oysters.
Wine connoisseurs will enjoy matching premium Australian wine with their tasty local produce meals. And in between all of the fabulous gastronomic experiences, you’ll be mesmerised and surprised by the jaw-dropping scenery of this untouched part of Australia.

Swim with sea lions and dolphins (A$180pp) This is an amazing experience and a highlight of the tour. The interaction that you will have with the sea lions and dolphins at the beautiful and sheltered Baird Bay on the Eyre Peninsula will leave you breathless. Board the 14-seater boat for a short ride to our first stop, where you’ll swim with sea lions. This takes place in approximately two metres of water. It is a natural experience and the sea lions come into the sheltered lagoon to interact with us. After this, head further out into the bay to swim with the majestic bottlenose dolphins. This happens in four metres of water but is still within the sheltered bay. The tour is 3-4 hours and a wetsuit and snorkel equipment are included.
Great White Shark Experiences in Port Lincoln Adventure Bay Charters - From A$389pp - A$564pp This is Australia’s first Advanced Eco-certified White Shark Tour. Sustainable and responsible, Adventure Bay Charters use rock music to attract the sharks, which also makes for a great vibe on the boat for your tour. They also have the only Aqua Sub, dry glass viewing platform with 360- degree views of the Great Whites in their natural habitat. Perth to Margaret River
Your guide will meet you nice and early and over a coffee talk about all the exciting things that lie ahead. Two and a half hours south of Perth, make your first stop at the popular holiday town of Busselton. It’s hard to miss the world’s second-longest jetty stretching 1.8 km out into stunning Geographe Bay. Catch the electric jetty train – the Stocker Preston Express, to one of only six underwater observatories in the world. Descend 8 metres below the surface to marvel at Australia’s greatest artificial reef, home to bright tropical corals, sponges and fish.
After lunch at a magical beach, meet local custodian Josh, who will introduce you to the world’s oldest living culture. Journey deep into Ngilgi Cave to be mesmerised by a live didgeridoo performance, storytelling and traditional fire-making during this 2.5-hour cultural tour.
Have a quick stop at Yallingup to check out a couple of famous surf breaks and pop into a winery for your first taste of the region. By late afternoon you’ll be settling into your accommodation in Margaret River. This evening, enjoy a delicious meal at The Common Restaurant in the resort.
After breakfast at an iconic café overlooking the Indian Ocean, head into the Margaret River township to have a stroll down the main street. Lined with cafés, boutiques, local produce stores and galleries, you’ll fall in love with this charming little town. For the rest of the day, your taste buds are in for a treat as you taste your way around the region. Visit cellar doors, a chocolate factory, cheese factory and a boutique brewery. But the highlight today will be a delectable lunch at the world-renowned Vasse Felix, Margaret River’s founding wine estate.
Spend the night back in Margaret River where you can relax and enjoy a platter laden with all of the local produce we have collected throughout the day. Of course, matched with some fine wine.
Walpole, Denmark & Albany
The first stop today is at the Diamond Tree, one of three fire lookout trees in the world. Ascend the 51 metres to the top if you are feeling brave. Onwards to the Valley of the Giants in the Walpole Wilderness National Park. Here you will walk amongst ancient tingle forests on the Ancient Empire and Treetop Canopy walks.
After a picnic lunch of local produce, venture on towards William Bay National Park to be amazed by the paradise that is Greens Pool. If the weather is warm, it’s the perfect place for a dip. Stop in at picturesque Denmark for a coffee, before a dreamy coastal drive towards Albany. Explore Torndirrup National Park and its highlights – The Gap and Natural Bridge. This evening, enjoy fine dining with stunning ocean views at renowned local restaurant Garrison. Check into the award-winning 5-star boutique hotel in Bayside.
Albany to Esperance
After breakfast, discover some of the highlights of Albany including Mount Clarence and the National Anzac Centre. Travel into the oldest mountain range in the world – the Porongurups. Take a walk to Castle Rock for jaw-dropping views over the region. After a picnic lunch, it’s back in the vehicle to travel through the beautiful Stirling Ranges towards Fitzgerald River National Park. This park is recognised as one of the most diverse botanical regions in the world with 1,800 species of flowering plants alone! Take a four-wheel-drive track through the park and if you are lucky enough to be travelling from August to November, you’ll be blown away by wildflowers in full bloom!
In the evening arrive in beautiful Esperance and enjoy a meal at the Loose Goose Restaurant. Tonight you’ll be relaxing in your luxurious 5-star accommodation in Esperance. A perfect hideaway nestled among nature.
Cape Le Grand National Park
This morning enjoy breakfast amongst native wildlife at your chalet, before a short drive to one of Western Australia’s most spectacular National Parks – Cape Le Grand. Words cannot describe the beauty you’ll experience today. Blindingly white sandy beaches, a turquoise ocean, and of course a highlight will be meeting the iconic kangaroos of Lucky Bay. Take an inspiring coastal walk to Hellfire Bay where a gourmet BBQ feast will be awaiting you for lunch.
From one paradise to another, jump back in the vehicle to do a 36 km scenic drive along the Twilight Cove Loop. Take your pick from one of many pristine beaches to swim, before relaxing back at your hideaway in Esperance.
It’s up before the birds chirp because today we’ll be putting our clocks forward 1.5 hours and have a lot of land to cover as we begin our journey across the Nullarbor Plain. We’ll go off-road, four-wheel driving along the Balladonia Track to see some unique historical highlights. Stretch the legs at the original Eucla Telegraph Station before crossing the border into South Australia.
Today you’ll have the opportunity to play a hole on the longest golf course in the world, the Nullarbor Links. Even by Australian standards, we cover a lot of distance today travelling 920 km. Tonight we’ll stay in an Outback Roadhouse Motel in Border Village.
The Nullarbor & Great Australian Bight
This morning we continue our journey along the Nullarbor stopping in at the unique Koonalda Homestead in the Nullarbor National Park. Originally a fuel and rest stop for people travelling along the Nullarbor in the 1950s, it was abandoned in the 1970s and is now a special piece of Australiana history and a photographer’s dream.
Then get ready to be blown away by the epic scenery of the Head of Bight – the longest continuous cliff coastline in the Southern Hemisphere. It is a favourite place in Australia and one that leaves passengers speechless every time. If you are travelling from June to October you’ll see magnificent Southern Right Whales and their young taking shelter in the Great Australian Bight Marine Park. You’ll also have the option during these months to take to the skies on a scenic flight to get another perspective of this incredible region.
Enjoy an Indigenous cultural experience at the Ceduna Aboriginal Culture and Arts Centre before settling into your 5-star Spa Villa right on the beach in Ceduna. Relax with some of the region’s finest wine and a heavenly platter packed with the best local produce from the land to the sea.
Baird Bay & Coodlie Park
This morning we’ll make our way to Baird Bay where you’ll have the Optional Experience and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with Australian sea lions and dolphins on a 3-hour cruise. In calm waters, these puppy dogs of the sea will splash, twist and twirl all around you and the magical dolphins won’t disappoint either. If you’d rather stay dry or are travelling between June to August, we have an alternative itinerary including visiting the Point Labatt sea lion colony.
After a gourmet picnic lunch, take an inspiring coastal walk around Venus Bay where we often spot dolphins surfing the waves. Then head to Coodlie Park Farm Retreat for a home-cooked meal and family hospitality. After dinner, if you are up for it, head out on a Nocturnal Wildlife & Stargazing Tour. This gives you a chance to experience the millions of stars of the southern skies and see native wildlife at its most active. Overnight in or near Coodlie Park.
Coffin Bay & Port Lincoln
After breakfast, we head down the coast, stopping at a few of the region’s stunning highlights such as Talia Caves, Locks Well and Elliston. Seafood lovers are in for a treat today as we join ‘Pure Coffin Bay Oysters’ for a wonderful harvest experience. Learn to shuck and eat your own Coffin Bay oysters, understanding why these little morsels of goodness are recognised as the world’s best!
Lunch today is at the 1802 Oyster Bar & Restaurant where you will feast on an impressive seafood platter featuring King George Whiting, a favourite fish of the region. Explore some stunning coastline at Sleaford Bay and Whalers Way before meeting the friendly koalas at Mikkira Station. Come evening you will check into your 4.5-star ocean view room at the Port Lincoln Hotel. Today we wine and dine on tantalising tasting plates of local produce.
Port Lincoln to Adelaide
After a little exploring, it’s time for another taste of ‘Australia’s Seafood Capital’, joining a ‘Seafood Lovers’ behind-the-scenes tour of the Fresh Fish Place. This one-hour experience includes an array of fresh seafood tastings and continues with an amazing seafood lunch.
Next, board the ‘Tesla’, a unique electric canal cruiser. Enjoy a tranquil cruise around Port Lincoln’s Marina and learn about Australia’s largest commercial fishing fleet from local legend Fred. Visit Boston Bay Wines for tastings and as your 10-day journey comes to an end, enjoy one last culinary experience at Beer Garden Brewing, a unique boutique brewery. Enjoy some yummy wood-fired pizza, washed down with a beer paddle of sustainably brewed beers.
After an early dinner, your now very familiar guide and friend, will farewell you at the Port Lincoln Airport for your 45-minute flight to Adelaide. Your airport transfer will have you arriving to your Adelaide hotel at approximately 9 pm.
