Visit breathtaking beaches and meet the iconic kangaroos at Lucky Bay. Head off-road on a four-wheel-driving adventure, take a scenic flight over the world-famous Pink Lake Hillier and walk through the ancient forests of the Valley of the Giants. If you are lucky enough to be on this private tour from August to November, you will see the most extensive array of wildflowers on Earth with over 12,000 species in full bloom.

Departing Esperance airport, this one-hour-and-40-minute scenic flight will stay with you forever. The Goldfields Air Service pilot will fly you over Esperance Bay past Frenchman Peak and over Australia’s iconic Cape Le Grand National Park. Take in the pure white sandy beaches and sparkling clear waters of Lucky Bay below.
Continue onward through the Recherche Archipelago to the unique Middle Island with its world-renowned Pink Lake Hillier. The vibrant pink of the lake next to the turquoise waters and the greenery of the bush is a sight you won’t believe! From Middle Island and Lake Hillier, you will return to Esperance Airport via more spectacular scenery and stunning coastal vistas.
Weather can play an important part in the operation of this tour and occasionally a booking may be cancelled which is beyond our control. If that is the case, you will be provided with a full refund.
The flight is operated by Rex and departs Perth at 8.15 am and arrives Esperance at 9.50 am.
Rex has a 15 kg luggage restriction per person plus one 7 kg carry on; however, upon presenting a valid itinerary or ticket, passengers with international connections are permitted 20 kg.
Dietary requirements can be catered for, but please advise at time of booking.

Transfer from Perth
Your culinary tour of the South West begins at your Perth accommodation at 6.30 am. You will be collected at your hotel by a private vehicle and transferred to Perth Airport for your 8.15 am flight to Esperance. At 9.50 am, your guide will greet you, and over a coffee in Esperance chat about what incredible experiences await you.
By late morning you will be in the absolute paradise that is Cape Le Grand National Park which is just a short drive from Esperance. Famous for its beach dwelling kangaroos, blindingly white sandy beaches and calm turquoise ocean, Cape Le Grand is one of Australia’s most spectacular National Parks. Spend the day soaking up the serenity, including meeting the iconic kangaroos at Lucky Bay, having a swim, and taking an inspiring coastal walk. Awaiting you will be a gourmet BBQ feast of local produce which you will enjoy with breathtaking views over Little Hellfire Bay.
Feeling inspired, by 6 pm you’ll be settling into you luxurious 5-star villa in Esperance. A perfect hideaway nestled among nature. Dinner this evening will be at the at Esperance’s premier restaurant overlooking the ocean, the Taylor St Quarters.
Great Ocean Drive
Enjoy breakfast amongst native wildlife at your accommodation before departing Esperance. Take the jaw-droppingly beautiful Great Ocean Drive, which is a 40-kilometre loop featuring highlights such as stunning beaches, rocky headlands, small bays, and hidden ocean pools. Onwards to Fitzgerald River National Park which from August to November boasts the most extensive array of wildflowers in the world!
Do some bushwalking at East Mt Barren for amazing views and be rewarded with a gourmet picnic lunch. Head off-road for a four-wheel-drive adventure along Hamersley Inlet Road as we continue towards Albany, arriving late afternoon. Take in the sweeping views over the ocean and township from Mount Clarence, before checking into your luxurious king spa room at The Beach House at Bayside. Enjoy fine dining with ocean views at renowned local restaurant Garrison.
Alternative Itinerary (Pink Lake Scenic Flight) instead of the Great Ocean Drive
If you would like to do the optional extra scenic flight over the world-famous Pink Lake, your day would change slightly. After breakfast, board the flight which offers incredible views over Frenchman Peak, Cape Le Grand, the Recherche Archipelago and of course the world-renowned Pink Lake Hillier. The vibrant pink of the lake next to the turquoise waters is a natural wonder sure to impress. Following the flight, enjoy a delicious lunch in Esperance before heading towards Albany via the picturesque Stirling Ranges.
A gourmet experience
Today is packed with culinary delights, and the first is the Beach House’s iconic ’Bountiful Breakfast’. Feeling satisfied, it’s time to continue our journey through the Great Southern, stopping at The Gap and Natural Bridge to be wowed by some spectacular coastal rock formations.
By late morning we will arrive at Mt Romance for an out of this world relaxation experience at the Cone, the Gong and the Bowl. This private experience combines Gongs and Sandalwood in a sixteen-sided cone featuring celestial skies. It is supremely restful and yet vitally energising!
At lunchtime, we will arrive at Oranje Tractor for a unique three hour meet the maker experience with the owners Pam and Murray. During this exclusive tour, you will forage in the orchard picking and tasting the organically grown produce. Be guided to their charming tasting room to experience a five-course’ Wine Flight’ paired with organic food from the farm and region including cheeses, olives and smoked trout. Notably, Oranje Tractor won Australia’s Best Cellar Door Award in 2019 and was visited by HRH Prince Charles and Camilla in 2015.
Pop into picturesque boutique brewery Boston Brewing for a beer tasting paddle on the way to Denmark. Come late afternoon you will be checking into your luxurious spa villa nestled among the bush. Tonight, you are in for a treat as renowned Chef Silas from Pepper & Salt restaurant joins you in your villa for a private cooking masterclass. He will entertain you as he prepares a three-course meal while giving you tips on how to use spice to enhance your cooking
Denmark to Margaret River
Breakfast this morning will be at the retreat, and 8 am we’ll leave Denmark heading on towards William Bay National Park. Get ready for some jaw-dropping moments as you descend into Greens Pool. A white sandy beach with huge granite boulders meets you, and just up the road, you’ll be wowed again by the turquoise and calm waters of Elephant Rocks. In the warmer months, both hidden treasures are ideal for a swim.
Inland you will discover the old-growth forests of the Walpole Wilderness region. Connect with nature at the internationally recognised Valley of the Giants which places you 40 metres high into the canopy of Western Australia’s majestic tingle trees. Found nowhere else on Earth, walking among these beauties is a tranquil and uplifting experience.
Arriving into the Margaret River region, your unique culinary lunch experience today is at the Truffle & Wine Co. Western Australia’s first truffière and largest producer of superior black Perigord truffles in the world. The Truffle Kitchen specialises in truffle-inspired food and wine pairings and boasts breathtaking views and a cosy atmosphere.
No visit to the South West is complete without heading underground to be mesmerised by one of its spectacular caves. We visit Calgardup Cave to view the exquisite cave decorations on a self-guided tour. At around 6 pm, we will arrive at Smiths Beach Resort in the tiny coastal hamlet of Yallingup, where you’ll settle into your ocean view room for two nights.
Tonight’s fine dining experience is a superb a la carte selection of mouth-watering Australian cuisine at Lamont’s restaurant in the resort. Kate Lamont is one of Western Australia’s most successful chefs with a career spanning over three decades. Sit back and relax with views over the ocean, the perfect way to end any day.
It’s up early today to enjoy breakfast at one of the local’s favourites, The White Elephant Beach Café. Take a look at the beautiful Margaret River Mouth and a world-famous surf break before moseying around the quaint township of Margaret River to explore its eclectic mix of boutique stores and galleries. Being Saturday, it means the Margaret River Farmers Markets are on. Awarded the Most Outstanding Farmers’ Market in Australia in 2018, wandering around them allows you to get amongst the locals, and taste an array of delicious local produce straight from the farmers themselves.
No visit to this world-class wine region would be complete without a visit to its founding estate, Vasse Felix. Relax in the picturesque settings of this critically acclaimed restaurant and enjoy a tantalising five-course tasting menu with accompanying wines.
Spend the rest of the afternoon, tasting your way around the Margaret River region, which we will tailor to your liking. Options include cellar door visits to Bettenay’s for nougat tasting, Gabriel’s Chocolate factory, the Grove Distillery and the incredible Wills Domain. For the perfect end to a perfect day, we’ll take a short drive to iconic Meelup Beach. Kick-off your shoes, take a stroll along the beach, have a swim, watch the sunset and enjoy a gourmet picnic of local produce for dinner.
After a day of pure indulgence on your culinary tour, return to the resort
Yallingup to Perth
Choose an in-room or restaurant breakfast before heading north to Mandurah for your 10 am departure on the unique Wild Seafood Experience. Board the Reel Affair II, a purpose-built cray fishing vessel where you can pull baited crayfish pots and learn about Western Australia’s crayfish conservation efforts.
Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins as you cruise the idyllic canals, indulging in an exquisite BBQ seafood buffet lunch. Featuring ocean delicacies such as blue swimmer crabs, salmon, marinated octopus, and of course, your freshly-caught crayfish.
After lunch travel to Fremantle for your second cruise of the day. Sit back and relax on a 45-minute Scenic Cruise with wine tasting from Fremantle to Perth up the picturesque Swan River. Perth is a beautiful city and the view as you cruise up the Swan River, wine in hand, really is the perfect way to end your food and wine tour. Your guide (now an old friend), will meet you at the dock and take you to stunning Kings Park overlooking Perth for one last toast. Feeling inspired, refreshed and connected with nature, they will return you to your accommodation at around 6 pm.
